Darrin may be a good candidate for Joy to relinquish her sexual frustrations, but to her it would only make things worse. Dear old Darrin has never been one to take no for an answer, but as things heat up he may be the one simmering down. His love for Joy has yet to dissipate and with the recent loss of their child he looks to get over that hurt by dotting on his soon be born baby.
Only he isn’t sure his new baby’s mama is what he wants as she has an overprotective meddling mother. When a familiar face returns to the busy streets of Oakland, Sam is hot on the trail to find out where and what his intentions are. Sam has a score to settle, she’s out for blood hunting down those she feels are responsible for the death of her husband. She is far from coming to terms with her sister’s lapse in judgment. She sets her sights on her firm, while Joy has ventured to the quiet comforts of the forest to gather her thoughts, hopefully in beginning the steps towards healing.
The whereabouts of Lillian are questioned, when unexplained occurrences start to effect the creditability of Joy’s business. Nadine smells a rat and advises Joy to come back to town, as she is sure Sam is behind it all. Nadine is looking to catch Sam in the act having witnessed her deviousness personally. She can’t wait to see Joy’s jaw drop as she unveils just how scandalous little Sam can be. 
Off into the quiet Yosemite mountains Joy has begun a new life as a convenient store owner, as she puts the pieces of her shattered soul back to together. Her writing is better than ever having suffered through such tragedy she pours her emotions into the pages of her worn leather journal. Talk among a small town becomes a loud chatter when a blast from the past shows face, "Son what are you doing shoveling dirt, and laying concrete, don't you know who you are?
Meanwhile, trouble has rose beyond Nadines scoup of business management and sends for Joy's return right away. Joy is less than interested but; returns to help Nadine sift through the damages hoping to retain the reputation of her company.
